It is not only in retrospect that one realises their blessings.
I counted those blessings every day that I colaborated with Van on Godspell. His Designs for the costumes came about during a "stoned" coverstation about how great it would be to take the show back to Troubadors and the spreading of the Gospels during Medievil Times. This we did, and that wonderful man handmade every costume, but with a magical twist. All colour disapeared ,after Jesus's betrayal, all this and Jesus in Cricket Whites---pure Van Eno,pure theatre, pure joy for the audience and cast. And me an ultra Darwinist! Thank you Van and the "producers2 of this Site for keeping him with us . --Rae Coates---

Thank you for dedicating this blog site to my uncle Van. I was just a small child when he passed away. I always wished that I could have spent more time with him. He was my inspiration to study fine art in college and I even created one of my first graphic design pieces based on a dream I had about him and his work. I enjoy seeing the photos of him and my family in the old photo albums that my Grandma passed down to me before she died in 2000.
I have two of his portfolio cases with unfinished works and sketches along with a few paintings. My parents have an incredible self portrait surrounded by his paintings in their living room. I have memories of seeing his paintings since I was a small child.
I appreciate you putting this site together and I look forward to seeing more soon! Thank you.
~Jennifer

Hi everyone. We apologize for the delay in getting this site up & running. We also took a break from this site but within the last year, vaneno.net underwent multiple upgrades to the template and the plugins. We also moved the site to a new server and cleaned up the spam. This site is now optimized. To reach us, you may make a post here in the Guestbook or submit through the contact page.

Thanks everyone!

Thank you for this site. I am a friend and collector of the artist Van Eno. I have been asked to curate an exhibit of works by Van at the Custom House Museum, Key West Art & Historical Society, January 2012. I would like to use some of the information you have placed on this site in the exhibit, if possible. I am also looking for photographs and objects that might be used in the exhibit. Please feel free to pass this message along to your friends and Van's collectors who you may be in contact with. Wesley Calvin is working with me on this project. Thanks for your help. Joe

Hi - was just thinking about Van's paintings, and decided to do a search. I knew Van in Key West back in the mid-seventies. Remember fun times and his triptics on wood. I think his work was prominent in Richard's gallery? So many dynamic artists have been lost since then, but not in memory. Thanks for giving him a home online.

Great to see all these paintings, photos, and memories of Van. I saw him often when he lived upstairs at Ed Thurston's house, and always admired his work.

I've always admired Van Eno's artwork.I never acquired a painting but have seen them in many Key West homes. When Van Eno passed away we went to his estate sale. My husband purchased a curved glass display case originally meant for pastries. To this day it sits in my shop displaying jewelry and trinkets. Some day I hope to be able to have a Van Eno painting. His art expressed a very special world
